TIP #5 - Riverview Rewards: The Do’s and Don’ts for Success



Do promote your offer in as many ways as possible.

Awareness is key when getting the word out, whether it’s through your employees, via in-store signage, or online.


Do choose an offer that is sustainable.

Your business’ bottom line shouldn’t suffer at the expense of giving out discounts.


Do switch things up!

Change up your offer, or type of offer (ex: discount to free item) every month to see which works best for your business.


Don’t create an offer that is difficult to redeem.

Offers should be attainable and on something your customers want or use regularly.


Don’t forget the details.

Customers are savvy and want more bang for their buck. Leaving out details (such as “1 per household” or “Offer valid on purchases $25 or more”) can cause confusion and result in a bad customer experience.


Don’t offer R Card holders the same discount as regular customers.

The point of a loyalty program is to give your customers a sense of exclusivity.
